Show off your custom content here :)

Okay, so, I finally grew a pair (ick?) and decided to give modding Sims3 a go. I thought about building an object mesh but ended up just cloning one from the base game and changing photos/paintings. Really not so hard! I figured out how to add new photo options, rather than just one with different frame colors, and like 10+ different clones clogging up the catalog, and now I'm trying to make them all use the same frame colors by default. OMG I'M SO EXCITED! ^_^

It IS mostly the same ones from my Ruined & Abandoned set, but I just wanted to see if I could do it. Unfortunately the photos themselves look a little crunchy unless you're a good distance away. Something else to sort out.

I have to change the frames for all the other painting textures but i'm feeling lazy :P

Avelina

I knew you could make something for S3 though. You are so amazing :)

PhoenixFG

Very cool! I was wondering when you'd get around to it!:P

yuichen

Haha yeah :P I'd rather do clothes honestly, but I figured this might be good just to get me used to the programs. I think I might redo this though. I think if I deleted everything but the first painting and just copied them, it would keep my custom frames for all, instead of going back to change them all. 'Cause now I'm just confusing myself.

BUT. I was thinking, thanks to Kar Avelina, that I might take a look at the base game hoodie to see if it's got that permanent bump map, and if not, try to put my textures on them from the athletic wear I did for TS2 recently.

I still haven't figured out the matting/inner frame part yet, and I did mess around with the hoodie I mentioned. I can't seem to replace the bumpmap (sounds like I'll need to replace the original to a blank one) and because I wanted it dark by default, it looks like it's made out of a garbage bag rather than a soft fabric. Hate how that happens with dark colors :(

Anywho, I did finally manage to complete something for this damn game, and while it's not a bunch of paintings, I rotated a base game mesh and threw on an art print that I would love to have myself.

Cadoc

Very cool. You have more patience than I ever will. <3

yuichen

I did end up throwing more paintings on this mesh. 7 more I think. I don't like any of them as much as this one, but they're interesting. And cheaper than the original mesh this is based on :P

I need some opinions, guys! :/

I'm still such a noob when it comes to creating for sims3, so I figure the best bet is to start small... simple conversions and edits, etc. I've been working on this stupid thing since yesterday (on two separate meshes, at that) and I'm still not sure about it.

It's supposed to be a conversion of my Imaginary leopard print tees.

There are still some slight issues to iron out, mainly why the hell CTU wont save all three colors for that pattern (it keeps the brown base color, yuck!), and replace the specular because I stupidly forgot. The good thing is that it's on a mesh with a working preg morph, so it *should* be usable :)

Avelina

I think it looks great! And with a prego morph it'll be awesome :)

I think I actually need to go back and make sure the maternity is enabled :P I know random is, at least.

Something else I've been fighting with for a bit. My Rest In Pieces skirts converted to Sims3.
