I know what you mean.  Nicholas tends to find any type of plastic or paper and turn it into a toy.  I buy him toys and he only chooses to play with them at like 3 in the morning on my bed.  He thinks he rules the world and especially me. I have to tell him he's the pet not me, he doesn't listen.

They do have the "I'm better than you attitude", I really really really want a dog though they are so loving.

Aww, yes! My dogs are pretty sweet. The younger one moreso; he's a cuddler... I don't think he realizes just how big he is.

Dogs are so awesome and they listen, Nicholas only listens to his food dish being filled.

I actually got to use the door lock today one of my coworkers was in the private room using my pc.  What's really going on with her?

LOL, that sounds about right xD My dogs listen pretty well unless they're loose outside and someone goes by. Then they're deaf, apparently. Moreso the older one.

Sounds like she was using company bandwidth to look at questionable things

You know I used the locked doors option and it's pretty awesome.  I really like that they added it back into the game.

I might try to make a home business to see how it works.

Technically they aren't home businesses because you can't build a store on your home lot. You have to buy a retail lot and then you can build a living space somewhere on it... and just not leave, lol. It's kind of silly that they made it this way considering you end up with basically empty lots where your sim technically lives but never returns to.

Granted, I don't know if there's a mod to bypass such silliness.

That really sucks.  I haven't given building a retail area a chance.  I might but knowing me I probably will not....

I liked building my bakery more than actually playing it. I should try out some other things just to see how it compares.

I really don't even know what the retail district is about.  I think my sim went once cause I was trying to find him a woman but they were all well you know creepy.

You don't have to do it in the retail district, you can build right in your regular world

I still haven't even gone to look around the retail district yet, which is silly.
