That's what I expected you'd say, that's what it does with Dragon Age for me. I was thinking perhaps you can use Alt+Tab to go to the desktop, then Alt+Tab back into the game and try it. I'll try it with DA as well to see if that helps any.

Gadwin has always worked fine for me, on XP and 7 both. I've used it fullscreen and windowed. What isn't working about it?

I've retextured a Rose hair before. The mapping is difficult but it IS possible to line up the highlights correctly. I say just keep trying until they all line up. I personally can't stand to download a hair unless the highlights are perfect.
