Title: The Rules - Please Read Before Posting
Post by: kayleigh on Jul 08, 2010, 08:56PM
Fortunately our forum has very few rules, assuming you have some common sense when tromping about the internet. We can and will add more if necessary. Please don't make it necessary. |:

General Forum Rules
1). Don't be a jerk. This is a given but the internet has proven to us that it's necessary to state, or people turn into assholes.

2). Respect other members. About the same as our first rule, but also necessary to state.

3). Use common sense when posting. Don't post something that's going to start a fight, or draw specific negative attention to you. We want our members to get along with each other, but it's not always possible. If you don't like someone we can't force you to like them, but we can force you to treat them with respect.

4). Cursing is okay, as long as it isn't excessive. This forum can be accessed by anyone. We don't want them to come here and be scared off because our goddamn members can't fucking shut their shithole mouths.

Posting Rules
1). Be considerate of others when posting questions and WCIF's. Search the forum and Google as best you can before asking. This saves frustration and will keep the forum from an overflow of threads for WCIFs and questions.

Image Rules
1). Maximum image size is 750x750px (http://i.imgur.com/QrR7DhP.jpg). Recommended image size is 600x450px (http://i.imgur.com/ghMQTUV.jpg).

2). Maximum number of images per post is 10. Recommended number of images per post is less than 5.

3). No personal photo threads. It's more fun to have all the girls, guys, children, etc nestled in their own generalized threads rather than having to sift through specific users' own image threads. Follow by example, please. :)

Upload Rules
1). Find a host for both your images and download file as attachments are disabled. For images, we recommend Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com), TinyPic (http://www.tinypic.com), and imgur (http://www.imgur.com). For files, we recommend MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/), Box.com (http://www.box.com), Rapid Share (http://www.rapidshare.com/) and Dropbox (http://www.dropbox.com). {Feel free to ask Kayleigh or Yuichen for referral links for Dropbox, as it gets you (and us) 500 MB of free space!}

2). Credit those whose work was used with a link to the original. If the original creator's items are no longer available a simple mention will suffice. Be sure to inform fellow users whether the mesh is included or not. No one wants to install it only to find it's not appearing in game because the mesh is missing.

3). If you're uploading a Sim or lot please take a screenshot of what is included via the Clean Installer (http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/).

Signature/Avatar Rules
1). Avatar images should be no more than 120x120px (http://i.imgur.com/ORTOzsf.jpg). They can be any smaller than that or rectangular rather than square, it doesn't matter. Just no bigger than that.

2). Signature images should be no taller than 150px and no wider than 600px. We don't need huge signatures between posts. You can have however many images you want, as long as all of them together do not exceed 150x600px (http://i.imgur.com/yX2DO56.jpg).

3). Signature text shouldn't exceed five to seven lines. This is because more lines than that can start to exceed the image size limit. We want signatures to be no bigger than 150x600px (http://i.imgur.com/yX2DO56.jpg), as was just stated above.

4). No offensive text or images in avatars or signatures. If we find something offensive or if something is reported to us, we have the right to either remove it ourselves or ask you to remove it.

If you can manage to follow these few simple rules, you should fit right in to the forum. :) Any questions should be posted in the "Forum Rules and Regulations" board.

Just a reminder to those unfamiliar with SMF coding... You can resize your images in your post.

Code: [Select]

If you'd like to link to the larger photo:

Code: [Select]
