Early this morning (4am EST, at least) EA announced the next Sims4 expansion pack: Get Together. You can watch their press conference here (http://www.twitch.tv/ea/v/9771592), or watch the official trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4owA7k9UrY).
While a lot of the community seem to be pissed off about this coming before pets or seasons, and of course toddlers, I personally feel like it was the right thing. We can currently send our sims on vacations, to the spa, have fabulous patios, and of course to work, but they don't have anything that really brings them together socially. They should be able to go out on the town and meet with friends for real club or party experiences. We need that more than snowfall or a litter of kittens at this point in time.

More info turning up. 64x64 lots are returning, kids can be part of clubs and groups, and apparently the new world is as big as the base game worlds. The new closets can be played in by kids, it sounds like you can use them to makeover people in your clubs, and of course, woohoo. That can be done in a bush too, I guess.

I would be the first to say that I am excited about the new ep but I am really not that impressed. Of course I will buy it if the price is right, lol. It doesn't do much for me, though. I hope the social interactions will be better and if so it might sway how I feel about the new EP but...I am not knocking any doors down to get to the game.

It's still pretty early into the information so maybe it'll interest you more later on. My sims don't really do all that much so I feel like it'll help me push them to be more interesting. But at this point I can say I definitely had more interest in GTW than I do with this.

Yup Get to Work bridged the gap for me from Open for Business in TS2 to Get to Work since I never played TS3 and didn't go in a rabbit hole....
I didn't notice any new or redesigned romance interactions. I think Hot Date will always be my top 10 release....I wonder what university is going to look like. I really wished they would give us our monies worth with one of these EPs like over stuff it content and give us some goofy yet good interactions heck throw in something completely off the wall. Like they did with the mimes and street dancers in TS2 but make them all where we can talk to them or be in relationships with them. I wouldn't even mind them giving us a real carpool or playable sims. I don't know I have too much ice cream today.

Hot Date was a pretty good game. Man that feels like a million years ago now. You're right though, it definitely needs something fun and quirky that isn't just a sim's personality.

It does seem like a million years ago. I was in Italy when I started playing TS1 and that was in 2000 or 2001. Wow! Well if you have an observatory your sims can woohoo in there which is kind of nerdy cool and weird. In public but no one runs over an acts crazy like they did in the clothing booth thing in TS2. If it comes out and is on sale for 20 bucks for Black Friday I might get it just to get it but probably will not if it it's not on sale.

Yeah, I planned on waiting for a sale myself. I'm kind of tight and try to get as much out of my money as I can. Well... most of the time.

I like a good sale. I am definitely going to wait a while before I buy it. I shouldn't have gotten those sps but I did. It did make game play more interesting but so does downloading and adding stuff to my TS2 game.

I've read some people think this is the best SP so far. Looks like it has a lot of nice stuff. But I agree, you can get a lot out of downloading cc too.

I believe that those people are probably TS3 to TS4 players with a handful of TS2 players saying this is the best ep ever. If we were to take a drive down memory lane and compare the items Maxis gave us from TS1 to TS4 I am sure we would boycott them but because simmers are so fickle in what we like, love, and hate it is difficult to demand more. Everyone is upset over toddlers and other things that I frankly could care less about soooo as stated before I am going to wait this one out. If I catch it on super sale (20USD) than I will get it. I can't keep buying games that only add a little to what I expect and want which is a lot unfortunately....lol

It's strange when GTW came out I was super excited to get it and I really wanted it, now with this new ep I am like meh I'll pass. I am sure it's going to be a decent ep..... :o

Yup I am really tired of hearing about toddlers...I am catching up on the latest I hate the community at sim secret. I wonder why so many people post there and think it's okay. I think if you post it don't forget to leave your name.

True. I also guess it's easier to say mean things and no one know who your or than to say it to their computer faces. I guess it's just me though that thinks that. Some of them are very nice and very funny than others are the complete opposite.

I don't tend to know what drama they're talking about, or who it is they're ripping into. Years ago it was basically the same people or websites over and over, but now it's tumblr people i've never heard of our members on the official forums.

Yup. I read one about CIJ for GOS that was from a creator that didn't like what a noob created. It hurt her feelings and it made me sad. It sucks that people are like that but that's how our world is. I just stick to creating stuff and if people like it I hope they download and if not than oh well. Like I love wall stickers but I don't think others do, lol :(.

I remember seeing that one. They don't have to like it I suppose, but they could still be grateful the person took the time out to make something just for them. They also need to realize everyone starts somewhere and at one time they were in the same boat... and I bet no one treated them like shit for it.

Yes. I just can't imagine a "seasoned" creator saying that at GOS. They all seem pretty nice for the most part. I don't know, people are funny at times.

Very true. We could use a lot more family oriented things (though I am quite sick of hearing about toddlers on forums). I just hope there's more to this EP than appears. Hell, it probably could've just been a game pack.

Yup, I agree with you totally. The toddler thing is old. I think the post of the video forgets that Maxis/EA are trying to reach the youth and what do the youth do party. I personally would have loved for them to add two or three more jobs like teacher, lawyer, garbage man, mailman, server at an eatery, etc. That's what I would love to see more jobs, a smaller dang microscope, some things that you have to do with sims like the card thing from TS2 or something similar. Even the virtual game they have already in the game make it multiplayer or even add a game system where they can link up online with other sims to play stuff like multiplayer games we have. You know that would be great. A gamers ep. I wonder if the modders would bite at that......

I bet they would! Speaking of jobs though, someone made a mod that makes the other careers playable like GTW. Obviously they aren't new jobs but it's a new experience at least.
Aaand, I entered another giveaway on twitter for Cool Kitchen. From SimsVIP, I think. Sims Community was running one at the same time through twitter but I didn't do both cause I felt like it was cheating, sort of? It would come in handy for the damn build I'm working on... I use the same kitchens all the time -.-

Mods for the other jobs. I am going to look into that and see how that is although I haven't played ts4 in a while.

Welp. The previews of the game look a lot more promising than they did at first. I looked online to see how much a hard copy cost and it was 39.99 not a bad price but the cheapskate in me refuses to purchase it, I will get it at another time. Maybe Santa will bring....I didn't at it to my list though.

I hope you win. I broke down and got it..... :-\ Target had it on sale for 29.99 but I didn't know that I was going to pay the 39.99 because I had 15.00 bucks in gift cards. So I ended up getting it for 15.00 bucks plus tax. The bad thing (to me) there is no disc, lol just a case and it says download only. I didn't read the box, it was a madhouse in Target the day I went. I was upset at my stupidity when I finally realized what I had done but then I got over it because you have to download or update dang near everything via origin anyway (if you are doing it the legal way), so I let the anger go.

It's a download?! How annoying! :( How right you are about all the updates though, ugh. Pretty cool to get it that cheap with gift cards :)
