Title: Sims Medieval
Post by: yuichen on Aug 20, 2010, 03:09PM
Just found out about this game this morning, and while I'm not usually into that sort of thing, it looks really good and I'm having trouble with the thought of waiting until March when it comes out.

The Sims Medieval (http://www.thesimsmedieval.com/)

Maybe I'm just super excited because it'll be easier to make the Andronis characters <3

There are rumors (or maybe they are not so much rumors) that most missions and such will be done in rabbit holes and kids won't be able to grow up, which is a huge turn off. The game does look good, but i am sure the pictures are all photoshopped a ton, so i don't know what we can believe.
Here (http://www.simprograms.com/17204/get-medieval-with-the-sims-the-sims-medieval-announced-images-logo-boxart/) and here (http://kotaku.com/5603171/the-sims-gets-medieval-on-you) are some more pictures and articles and of course, there is some TSR-related (http://tsr.mustbedestroyed.org/?p=948&cpage=1#comment-15719) drama, as well, LOL!

Somehow I'm not surprised with the TSR drama. That guy sinks to new lows all the time.

I really hope the rumors are wrong! That would just be ridiculous not to have children age, and everything in rabbit holes?? Lame -.-

I hope so too as the trailer looked really awesome. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they tell anything more about it.

Sooo...this comes out tomorrow! Who's going to get it?

I'm not...as least not as soon as it's released as I have with other games and not at this price.

FYI there's already a patch out for it and it's not even released yet! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???  :-\

I think i'd like to get it but like you I have other game reserved atm so I won't get it straight away.

Wow a patch already? -.-

I might get it sometime, though not for a while.

Yep! There's no download link but this (http://www.simprograms.com/28841/the-sims-medieval-patch-notes-for-version-1-1/) is what it fixes! O_o

I might get it! MIGHT being the key word but not for awhile yet.  I have other games I need to play, stories to write and it still looks as if children don't age so what's the point? How does your kingdom really evolve?

Holy shit that's a long list! O.O But yeah, it is pretty lame the kids wont grow up.

I'd say the kids not aging is a major turn-off. How on earth can a kingdom grow if the kids don't age?

It'll be interesting to see how the game actually is, though.

why would they have it where the children don't grow? That makes no sense.

Sooo...I know I said I wasn't going to get it but...

See what happened was amazon.com had a promo the digital download. 15 bucks off digital download! And I had just got my tax money sooo...

PICTURES!:P The game isn't as sucktacular as I thought it was going to be.  I haven't really got a chance to play.  You HAVE to go through the tutorial first and the camera sucks but there's already a no mosaic mod out! HUZZAH! Some missions are done in rabbit holes which is lame but meh...Anyways, I call this a RPG lite.

Queen Analisa. Traits: Eloquent jokester who happens to be an insomniac! CAS is WAY better in Medieval than it is IN TS3 without the hacks. How did that happen?

I like the dance movies. I have a video on youtube here (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVFHDHL2ePI"). Short since my bard stopped playing!

I got it for my birthday and have played it a little. I agree, it's not that bad. I'm still trying to figure everything out but I like the quests. It's harder to make money though. I shall have to get some screens of my own and share :)

My first sprog grew up. Here is Aila. Sorry it's not of her face. I really hate that you can't rotate or guide other characters :/

Hmm the graphics seem a bit better on your system than the regular game. That's a plus!

I really like the look of this game. The hair, the clothes, and some of the quest things Rae told me about are kind of funny.

you think so? I thought it still looked grainy but it might be better because it's not as huge as S3

Here is a new pic. I was fooling around with the sorcerer and got her hooked up with the priest. I thought that was funny :P

It does still look a little grainy but things don't seem all smudged like the other game. How is it outside?

Rofl, the sorcerer and the priest. Perfect xD

outside isn't bad but some of the rocks glitch when you are moving around the kingdom. most of the action happens in the buildings.

Hmm that's odd but I suppose no game comes without some sort of glitch. *cough*rdrwagonsstuckinground*cough*

Suppose it wouldn't be EA without some sort of bug present at all times...

Nonetheless, I just ordered my copy :)
