Here is a nice little thread to post your screenshots of your house creations.
I have never had success with creating my own houses but I think this one is coming out quite well. I have only managed to do 2 rooms so far: Kitchen and Washroom.

I thought the kitchen turned out quite well. I like how you can layer rugs and have a lot of decorations.

Here is the washroom. I am so happy to be able to have a washer & a dryer in S3. I can't wait to try them out.

From the washroom, you can go outside. Very handy to dump dirty water. XD

I've worked on it a bit more today. Having pretty much finished the basement and downstairs. Here is how it looks so far.

You walk in the door and there are chairs with magazines to look at while you wait.

I started building a house for a new sim in the other EA neighborhood. So far there's only exteriors, and even then it's not quite finished.

I'm finding it a little harder to build and decorate as well in this game but I also don't have mountains of custom stuff, and honestly I am really missing the clutter.

I converted files and compressed the packages and they're there, but I think it's hiding some of my other stuff =/

I've been working on a custom apartment building the last couple days based loosely off a S2 building I did. There's four apartments over two upper levels and half of the "basement". The basement shares a gym.

No pics of the inside yet. I wanted to have a different version for each usable apartment so people could choose which one they want. Unfortunately I found an issue with the hidden marker and foundations. It doesn't see the foundation wall as a wall, so it wont hide. I ended up going one tile away from it so it does hide more, but I don't know if it would bother people. The apartments are also quite expensive so I don't know what else it's counting in the price :/

I figured I'd have to do something to dress it up seeing as there's nothing but ugly concrete "retaining wall" so stare at.

you can't cover it up with paint or whatever?

Nah. When you use the hide marker and go back to live mode, the room where the marker was goes black so your game doesn't have to work it's ass off showing what is going on everywhere. Think of University in S2 but blacked out. As long as there are real walls around, it will black out, but foundation walls confuse it. Maybe it thinks it's outside or something.
Like I said, I fixed it so there's less showing but I don't know if it would be an eyesore to people who send their sims downstairs to the gym, or do laundry in the little room I left space for. I guess I can just put a warning up. Actually, I should send you the basement apartment one itself to make sure it will even install.

how much are they?

The basement one (though it's 2 bedrooms over 2 floors) is like 12k for unfurnished. I'm actually not sure if that means the kitchen and bathroom will still be there, but it still seems a bit high. I think it was 26k furnished. There really isn't much in that place as it's pretty small, so it must be counting something it shouldn't.

The house looks nice though. From the outside it does seem like your building has improved :) I really like the walls you choose for the outside. Ha, and I see the Lancer in the driveway. Jay would approve :P

but yea. I'm liking that you can stretch walls out without tearing stuff down. it is much different then it originally looked when I redid it. :)
I love those counters with the exception of that little flaw. I wonder if someone should tell them :/

Funny it looks okay on their site. I'll check in my game in a little bit. I'm not going to send them a message because I'm sure they'd see they've never had my email in their records and know I didn't pay for it :P
